Step 1: The Consultation
If you are like most of my clients, you found The Proof Photography either through a word-of-mouth referral or from my website/facebook/instagram, so when I receive your inquiry, the first thing I will do is reach out to you with a phone call. This allows me to answer any questions that you may have, and it gives me a sense of what you are looking for in a photographer. If everything seems like a good fit, our next step is to meet in person so that we can get to know each other a little better and plan the details of your session.
One way I have chosen to set myself apart from other photographers is by offering to come to your home for the consultation, and I have found there are many advantages to this. Not only is it more comfortable and convenient for you, but meeting with you in your home helps me get to know you better, which in turn helps me create better images that reflect the real you. While I am there, you can show me the areas in your home where you wish to display your finished artwork, and I can measure your wall spaces. I will show you product samples, so that we can begin thinking about which products will best satisfy your needs. We can also review your wardrobe selections and start planning the details of the session including the date, time, and location.
Step 2: The Creative Session
This is the time when we put all the planning into action, and I capture the images that will later be used in your custom artwork. You get to relax and have fun, and use this time to make more sweet memories with your family! I want your images to be comfortable and confident, so I will direct you throughout the session, moving you through the various locations and poses. If anyone in your party is reluctant, you can reassure them that I have photographed literally hundreds of people over the years, and I am an expert at creating the most flattering angles and images. For children, you can simply them tell them they are going to play with mommy and daddy, and Miss Jill will be there with her camera. The time will seem to fly by, and we will be hugging and saying goodbye before you know it.
Step 3: The Ordering Appointment
Within 1-2 weeks of your session, we will meet again to preview all of the great images we created during your session. It is so exciting seeing your vision coming together, and for this reason, most clients consider the proofing and ordering appointment to be one of their favorite parts of the entire process! Together, we will select the portraits that best represent you in this season of your life, and the products that best display those portraits. Because we have been working closely together all along, we probably already have a good idea what that looks like for you, so we can use this time to select your favorite images, confirm sizes, and discuss finishing options. This is a relaxed and easy process where you can review the samples, and we can even show you what your images would look like on your own walls.
Most clients will choose a wall art collection with 2-8 of their favorite images or a single large statement piece. Other popular finished products are heirloom albums, custom proof boxes with matted prints and an easel for a rotating display, and boutique cards and announcements. You will LOVE my curated collection of products to choose from! With your order finalized and paid for that day, I can put the finishing touches on your images and send your order off to my professional print lab and custom craftsmen for completion.
Your finished artwork will arrive within 4-8 weeks, and if you are local, I will personally deliver your portraits to you. If you like, I can even provide complimentary professional installation service so you can be sure your finished wall art will look its best!
