Maternity and Postpartum Gowns
Rental Guidelines
Our client closet is available to current customers to use for their photo sessions at no additional cost. We do not rent gowns for events (baby showers, weddings, parties, dances, etc.)
We also allow professional photographers located in the United States to rent our gowns for photo sessions. Complete the form at the bottom of this page for rates and details.
PHOTOGRAPHERS: Rentals are $25/day and up (price varies by gown). You will be responsible for the actual cost of shipping to/from your address plus a $25 handling fee. If you are local to Louisville or visiting the area, you can schedule pickup and return at our studio location at no additional cost.
CARING FOR YOUR ITEMS:
These guidelines will ensure that our gowns and accessories remain in pristine condition and ready for the next mama to enjoy.
1. Please shower before your session to ensure your body is clean and free from any lotions, creams, oils, perfumes, or deodorants.
2. Wear seamless undergarments and a strapless bra in a color close to your natural skin tone for modesty and protection, and to ensure there are no visible panty lines or strap marks.
3. If you anticipate any leakage, please use panty liners and/or nursing pads for added protection.
4. Be sure to inspect your item(s) upon receipt, and report any damage immediately (stains, snags, broken zippers, etc). If you don't do this and there was no known damage prior to your session, it may be assumed that the damage was caused by you.
5. Observe proper handling techniques to reduce the chance of damaging garments:
- Always wash your hands with soap and water before touching any textiles.
- Remove any jewelry that could snag or catch on the fabric.
- Take your time while dressing and undressing, and do not force an item that does not fit.
- Pay extra attention to delicate fabrics and embellishments to ensure they remain intact and beautiful.
- Never eat, drink, or smoke around garments as these actions can stain the fabric.
Terms and Conditions
We try to provide accurate descriptions of wardrobe items on our website. If for any reason you are not satisfied with an item's fit or appearance, you may exchange it for another item from our wardrobe or wear your own garment from home. We take no responsibility for the outcome if you choose to wear an item or a size which does not fit or flatter you.
Do not force a clothing item to fit or a zipper to close.
Do not cut, alter, pin, or tape any item.
Oversized items may be cinched with elastic or smooth coated clamps only. Use extreme caution to avoid rips or snags.
After your session, hang your items or lay them flat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, smoke, or pets. Use a garment bag to keep them dust-free and safe from snags.
Do not attempt to clean or wash items yourself. We prefer to handle the cleaning ourselves or rely on our experienced, professional cleaning services for delicate fabrics.
If an item is damaged in your care:
- Do NOT attempt to clean/repair the item yourself, or have it cleaned/repaired by anyone else.
- Return the item, and explain the damage.
- If it can be easily cleaned/repaired (e.g., spots that come out in the wash, replacing a button, or stitching a hem) we will take care of it at no additional cost to you.
- If we are unable to restore the garment to a suitable condition, you will be liable for the cost of restoring or replacing the garment. The fee charged may be up to, but not more than, 200% of the original retail price of the garment.* This fee will be in addition to any amount already paid for rental or postage.
By accepting this agreement, you give permission for The Proof Photography to charge fees for damages or loss of an item to the payment method you used when placing your order. You will be given the option of using an alternative payment method before the charge is made.
*Many items in our wardrobe are no longer sold in stores or available anywhere. This, along with loss of earnings from potential future rentals, is why there is a fee of up to 200% of the original retail price of the garment for damage or loss.
